Sand Stone
Home > Stone > Sandstone
A porous, durable sedimentary rock composed of cemented sand-sized grains, predominantly quartz. Categorized by the most popular sandstone bonding agents such as silica, calcium, clay and iron oxide.
Sandstone is softer, more prorous and less dense than granite. Even with the application of a stain inhibiting sealer, marble will require more maintenance and periodic application of Sealer. Care should be taken to prevent scratching from sliding sharp object or abrasive cleaners across a sandstone surface.
